Limited Lines Automobile Insurance Agent
A limited lines automobile insurance agent is a person authorized to transact automobile
insurance. A motor vehicle of the private passenger or station wagon type that is not used
as a public or livery conveyance for passengers, nor rented to others; or Any other four-
wheel motor vehicle with a load capacity of 1,500 pounds or less; provided, or motorcycles.
Fire and Casualty license authority is determined by what documents are submitted:
Prelicensing Requirements
20 hours of pre-licensing instruction in personal lines automobile insurance such as
California financial responsibility, non-collision, collision coverage and motorcycle
coverage; Plus 12 Hours of Code & Ethics, these hours may be satisfied by completing an
on-line or classroom California Department of Insurance approved pre-licensing course
